New England Fashion Week
The shoot for this project was quite chaotic, with models walking back and forth on a somewhat small space. I set up the camera at the front of a large group of photographers, all jockeying for the best position to get that magazine-quality photo we all desired. Almost all of us – I was the only one recording video, with the exception of one other man who was there for only 10 minutes. Then, with everybody snapping photos at the same time, the flashes from their cameras were quite distracting. I’m thankful for auto-focus because I used that feature almost exclusively. I still don’t know how the models weren’t blind after that fashion show.
Both men and women walked the “runway,” many of whom were scantily-clad – yes, even the men. Probably the fanciest outfits were designed by an Indian woman, whose dresses were fit for royal ballrooms or high-end weddings.
The client asked me to record the show to capture video of most of the designers’ creations. And that’s exactly what I did. I edited the video with music tracks that implied action and fashion. I also went outside the showroom floor to document what was happening in the lobby. I edited the colors of the video to be well-saturated and gave it a cinematic feeling.
