Caitlin’s wedding was a fun project for me. This was my first endeavor into the wedding industry. Since Caitlin is part of my extended family, I offered to record her wedding and edit a wedding video at a vastly reduced price. In exchange, she allowed me to use the video for marketing purposes and as part of my public portfolio. I experimented with lots of camera angles, and even got to prove my camera’s reputation as a low-light beast.
The first part of the wedding was the beautiful ceremony, much of which I shot in slow motion for cinematic effect. I mean, how could I not record the bride, groom and wedding party walking in 60 frames per second! That decision gave me lots of leeway in the final edit, which is ideal for both me and the client. I got absolutely marvelous video of the flower girl and the bride’s son! Afterwards, I recorded some pivotal moments during the reception with speeches, dancing and sweet, intimate moments between the bride and groom.
My favorite part was editing the ceremony video perfectly timed with Taylor Swift’s song. The bride is a huge “Swiftee,” so a lot of the theme songs during the ceremony were by Taylor Swift. I loved doing this project and hope that I can also do your wedding!
